Rev. Edwin Rideout, BTh
Lead Pastor

edwinrhoda@gmail.com

Edwin has spent sixteen years as a Pastor. He claims to have pastored three of the finest churches in the country. 'Having served fourteen years in managerial roles with an engineering firm and the Government of NL prior to entering full-time pastoral ministry he brings a wealth of administrative skills to his portfolio. He commenced his ministry at the Pentecostal Assembly of Fort McMurray in September of 2008. Edwin is married to the lady of his dreams, Rhoda; and together they are parents to three adult children.

Edwin is known for his energy and passion; both in the congregation and the community. His preaching and teaching is forthright and down to earth; the cry of his heart is for people to discover Christ and grow in discipleship-life.

His one weakness is his hope that the Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup before the rapture of the Church.

Rev. Harold G. Luff, BA; MA; RPC
Assistant Pastor /
Counselling & Discipleship
(Joining our staff Nov 1, 2010)

Harold is currently in his 33rd year of ministry. He comes to the PAOFM not only with experience from being the senior pastor of various churches throughout Atlantic Canada, in the PAON and PAOC, but also with a strong education background in counseling. In 2007 he became a Registered Professional Counselor with the Canadian Professional Counselors Association; and, most recently in 2009, he completed his Masters in Christian Counseling from Bethany Bible College and Seminary in the USA.

Those who know Harold regard him for his relentless dedication, his Godly wisdom, and his never-ending heart to serve others .With a call to minister to those in need of respite and care, he and his wife of 35 years, Doraldena, made their home in Woodstock, NB, a “Pastor’s Inn”—a place where clergy were cared for with counseling and a cup of tea!

He and Doraldena are proud parents of two sons, Stephen and Michael, and their only daughter, Ruthie. Harold and Dena are also unabashedly proud grandparents of five grandchildren!

It’s also important to note that Pastor Harold is a diehard Habs fan. We’ll see who’s really in need of counseling now that Pastor Edwin has discovered this significant fact.

Rev. Shannon Wheaton
Family Ministries Pastor

Shannon Graduated from Eastern Pentecostal Bible College, now Masters College and Seminary, in 2001 and entered full time ministry in the same year with Pastor Edwin at Springdale Pentecostal Church as Pastor of Christian Ed/Youth/Music; a role he served for 5 years.  In April 2006 he joined the staff  Windsor Pentecostal Church in the capacity of Children's Pastor.

Shannon is married to the lady of his dreams, Trena. They are both very passionate about children; first as parents and second as pastors. God has blessed them with two boys; Timothy & Benjamin.

In a society where children are bombarded with technology, media, and relaxed attitude toward things of faith; Shannon and Trena are devoted to intentionally shaping the world view of a new generation; so that they will naturally follow Christ.

Shannon states, "My passion is to imprint Christ on kids so they become acquainted with the Word of God and they will come to know Christ alone as the One who saves and satisfies them."

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14).

Rev. Kenneth Oppon
International Missions Pastor
sowetty53@yahoo.com

Kenneth is a passionate man of God; with over twenty years experience in pastoral ministry both in West Africa and in Canada. Kenneth is committed to revival and evangelism.

While pastoring in Sierra Leone, West Africa Kenneth was captured by rebels during the notorious civil war at the end of the last decade and held captive for several months; his life was preserved by divine intervention. As result of that ordeal he was separated from his family for five years; then reunited. The Oppons lived the reality retold in the infamous flick 'The Blood Diamond'.

Kenneth will assist Pastor Edwin in ministering to the growing International Constituency at the Pentecostal Assembly of Fort McMurray and provide strategic leadership to our assembly as we intentionally engage the growing international constituency of our city.

Rev. Rhoda Rideout
Care & Growth Pastor
rhodaedwin@gmail.com

Rhoda has served alongside her husband for fourteen years in pastoral ministry. Her primary passion is to see individuals introduced to Christ and assisting them as they grow in maturity and the knowledge of Christ. Rhoda is convinced that it is all about relationship; it's about intentionally living life in a manner that leads lost individuals into relationship with people who have a relationship with God. And with God, nothing is impossible! D.L Moody once said, "the world has yet to see what a man or woman completely sold out to God can do for Him."

Having trained in the field of Executive Office Administration, Rhoda brings tremendous organizational and relational skills to her role as Care & Growth pastor at PAOFM. If you have a 'talent' - and you all do - she will spot you in a crowd and before you know it you'll be engaged in Kingdom service.

Pastor Jason Beck
Next Generation Pastor

Jason's passion and energy is for youth ministry; and he is excited to be part of what God is doing and going to do in the lives of youth at the PAOFM and in Fort McMurray! Jason is originally from a small town named 'Come By Chance' in Newfoundland but he is a city guy at heart...

He began his ministry internship with Pastors Edwin and Rhoda in Springdale, NL, and from there was brought on staff with Edwin as youth and young adults pastor in Charlottetown, PEI. From there he became assistant pastor with Kingsway Assembly in Kentville, NS, which is where he comes to us from.

Prior to entering ministry Jason worked with many different community organizations with his primary clients being youth. He has worked with and seen a wide variety of backgrounds and feels that it has helped him to be more well-rounded and grounded in his ministry. He is very relational, down to earth and a lot of fun. To quote a recent youth of his from Kentville, "I like how you're a crazy-fun-awesome-dude! The qualities a youth pastor MUST have ;)"

Pastor Dawn McPherson Herman
Music & Worship Pastor

dawnling1@gmail.com

Dawn's love for singing began before she could talk! She was encouraged by her pastor at the young age of 3 to sing for the Lord; and has faithfully done so through good and bad times. Those who have worshipped with Dawn quickly realize her passion is to lead people to the throne room of God.

As a teenager she participated in many youth events and conventions; often receiving awards for her ministry. As a young adult, she studied music as Music Education major at Evangel University in Springfield, MO, USA. Dawn has ministered in her home church as a soloist; lead the choirs and served as the lead Minister of Worship.

She has recorded two worship albums: Give Me Jesus (2000) and Bless His Name - Live in Montreal (2005), and has been an invited worship leader and singer to many women retreats, conferences and churches in Canada and the U.S.

Dawn has lived in Montreal since a young girl and has enjoyed the multicultural experience of her beloved city and her home church. She is fluent in English, French and is currently studying German.

We are excited that Dawn has joined the pastoral team at PAOFM on May 25, 2009.
